This Student Policy outlines Happy and Bilingual School’s policies and practices for all enrolled students.
☐ Enrollment in Happy and Bilingual School is on a month-to-month basis. If you wish to cancel your monthly enrollment in the program, you may do so at any time. A student after discontinuing enrollment is welcomed to continue the remainder of the month, but no refunds will be granted for any cancelation within a paid period. Please note that a student who has de-enrolled and wishes to re-enroll later will have forfeited any tuition promotions or discounts awarded prior.
☐ Tuition is due on the 1st day of each month and will incur a $10 late fee if not paid by the 3rd. The late fee will be automatically applied to unpaid accounts on the 4th.
☐ No classes will be held on unpaid accounts after the 5th of each month. Accounts unpaid on the 7th of each month may result in the automatic de-enrollment of a student and forfeiture of all prior deals and promotions. A student in this case, may re-enroll at anytime at the current rates. A student cannot make-up any classes canceled due to non-payment.
☐ We recommend that children under the age of 6 years be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents may choose to learn along with their children of any age.
☐ Our Year-Round Program is a monthly enrollment that consists of eight 25-minute classes per month – two 25-minute classes each week. The two 25-minute classes may be combined so that a student has one 50-minute class each week. We do not recommend 50-minute classes for younger students. This will be determined by parent/student and teacher on a case-by-case basis. Additional 25-minute classes may be purchased to increase the number of classes students have each month.
☐ In some months depending on student’s schedule and the length of the month, a student may be off for a class or two if they have already reached their maxed classes for that month. You will be notified at the start of each month in the event a class will not be held. You will have the option to either take the time off or purchase additional classes. Classes will resume normal schedule the following month.
☐ Periodically, students will be recommended for a Language Blitz (full immersion) session with someone other than his or her instructor. Teachers will make these recommendations depending on the series of learning, the content covered and the student’s readiness. This varies greatly for younger students and will be administered on a case-by-case basis.
☐ Classes are recorded for quality and training purposes. Parents and students have up to 7 days to review each recording before they are permanently deleted from our servers.
☐ Class reminders will be sent 2 days prior and 1 hour in advance of each scheduled class time.
☐ Classes may ONLY be rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled class time.
☐ The request to cancel and reschedule a class must be emailed to info@happyandbilingual.com at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled class time and MUST be rescheduled within 7 days of cancelation. If not, the student will forfeit the right to make-up that class.
☐ There will be no refunds or make-up classes offered for missed classes, no-shows or classes canceled less than 24 hours of the scheduled class time. This includes cancellations or no-shows due to illness, weather issues, internet or power service interruptions, or other emergencies or unforeseen circumstances on behalf of the student.
☐ In the event that Happy and Bilingual has technical glitches that prevents a student from having their scheduled class, we will reschedule the class for a time that’s convenient for the student.
☐ In unusual circumstances, Happy and Bilingual School may need to substitute a teacher for a class and will notify the student or parent in advance by email if that happens.
☐ Siblings may learn together or separately. We recommend that siblings learn together ONLY if they are both of similar ages and language level. It is to be expected that in shared classes their talk time will be less because of the shared learning environment. The eight classes per month package may be shared between siblings so that each sibling has four 25-minute classes. However, we recommend purchasing an additional eight classes for each additional student so that each sibling has eight 25-minute classes each month.
☐ Teachers use Happy and Bilingual School’s curriculum customized to each student. Additional third-party class material, excerpts, readings, articles, videos and games may be incorporated to enhance to learning experience.
☐ We encourage students to practice between lessons. Students and parents will have access to the class material covered in each class in their individual student portal. Students can log in at any time to review class material, vocabulary lists, worksheets, videos and practice exercises.
☐ For privacy and security purposes, all communication between the teachers and students happens during monitored class time. Outside of class, such communication goes only through our admin at info@happyandbilingual.com.
☐ Our Referral Program rewards a 25% discount on the next month’s tuition to any current student who refers a potential student. Once the new students has enrolled, the current student will have the 25% discount applied to a future month’s tuition.
☐ During the summer, students may either continue in the Year-Round Program or enroll/transition into the Summer Program in the months of June and or July. Year-Round students may also modify their schedule during the summer months; however, notification of any schedule modification must be emailed to info@happyandbilingual.com by May 1st.
☐ Happy and Bilingual School reserves the right to cancel or modify the schedule of group classes in the Summer Program that do not meet the required group enrollment.
☐ Happy and Bilingual School reserve the right to refuse service without refund to any student(s) deemed disrespectful to our teachers.
